Charter Partner - Florence Christian Church
This Day in History

Boy Scout Troop 1 meets every Tuesday night from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Activity Center at Florence Christian Church at the corner of US25 and Main Street in Florence, KY.

Troop 1 was first formed in the Florence community on January 4th, 1937 with Florence Baptist Church as the original Charter Organization.  For the next 10 years, the Troop remained active in the Florence Community with several different Charter Partners, including: Florence Baptist, Florence Methodist, Florence Citizens, and the Florence Rotary.  In 1948, the Troop experienced a break in charter, but the Troop was re-chartered in 1949 with an Association of Civic and Religious Groups in Florence.  The Troop has been in continuous service since that time, with August 2014 marking the 65th anniversary of continuous tenure for the Troop.
In 1959, the Troop charter transferred to Florence Christian Church, where it has remained and thrived ever since.
Since it's inception in 1937, the troop has served thousands of community youth and has been led by 24 Scoutmasters.  In it's proud and long history, Troop 1 adult volunteers have helped 40 boys reached the ultimate pinnacle of Scouting: the Eagle Rank.
